Associate or Senior Associate – Planning, Environment and Government

We have industry recognized specialties in environmental planning, infrastructure funding, major projects and local government law. Our work covers litigation, complex advising and transactional agreements.

Your place in our team

You will work directly with the firm’s partners – Dr Lindsay TaylorMegan HawleyStuart Simington, Sue Puckeridge, Liam Mulligan & Katie Mortimer – and alongside the firm’s other senior lawyers and be assisted by talented junior lawyers and a fully resourced team of business support staff.

You will be able to work across a range of diverse matters, including.

  • development appeals and judicial review in the Land & Environment Court (including substantial opportunities for appearing as advocate)
  • environmental prosecutions
  • planning & development law and projects
  • developer contributions and planning agreements
  • biodiversity & threatened species
  • pollution and contamination
  • public sector governance and administration

Your background

You possess:

  • a current practising certificate from an Australian jurisdiction
  • the ability and desire to work collaboratively in a dynamic, co-operative and harmonious team
  • high level expertise in legal drafting and/or environmental planning litigation
  • the ability to prepare high quality, complex written advices directed to public sector clients
  • excellent statutory interpretation and legal research skills
  • ability to work under minimal supervision but with direction and guidance of experienced partners
  • a desire to be the best lawyer you can possibly be
