ALERT: New Local Infrastructure Contributions (including VPA) Practice Notes in Force for NSW
The Planning Secretary in NSW has published a suite of new local infrastructure contributions practice notes. These include an updated planning agreements practice note. The publication was not announced in a media release or accompanied by a planning circular by the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure but was notified by the Department to those on its mailing list.
According to the Department’s webpage, the new practice notes were published at the end of May 2025 and replace the earlier local infrastructure contributions practice notes, including the Planning Agreements Practice Note 2021. We previously wrote about the draft version of the new planning agreements practice note, first released for public comment in January 2024, here.
We will provide a further update on to the changes in these new practice notes in a separate post.
