New Housing Code Published
On 14 July 2017 the General Housing Code currently contained in State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) Amendment (Housing Code) 2008 (Codes SEPP) will be replaced with a new ‘simplified’ Housing Code.
On Friday 16 June 2017, the State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) Amendment (Housing Code) 2017 (Amending SEPP) was published on the NSW legislation website.
The Amending SEPP is expressed to commence 28 days after publication and will commence on 14 July 2017.

UPDATE: There are no savings provisions in the Amending SEPP itself. However, the existing savings provision in the Codes SEPP would apply so that applications made but not determined before the amendment would be dealt with as though the amendment had not commenced.
