LTL: Introducing Sue Puckeridge

Six weeks ago I had the pleasure of announcing the arrival at LTL of Carlo Zoppo. At the time I stated that it was the first of a number of announcements for LTL as we approached our 10th anniversary. Today, I am equally pleased to announce the second development: the arrival of Sue Puckeridge at LTL, also as a Practice Director.

Like Carlo, Sue is coming to us with a stellar combination of public and private sector experience. In Sue’s case, her career has included time in top-tier firms and a significant tenure as Director of Legal Services at the City of Sydney Council.

Sue is a specialist planning and local government lawyer, who has substantial experience across the full range of advice, transactional and litigation matters, acting for both private and public sector clients.

Sue has extensive experience in providing advice in relation to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 including advice in relation to permissibility of development; approval of consents; validity of consents, the making of planning instruments, assessment processes (Part 4 and Part 5), crown development provisions, development contributions, compliance certificates.

Sue also brings to LTL her significant experience in the legal aspects of major projects including relationships with government, environmental planning, contract procurement and tendering, construction contracts, project management and dispute management, as well as project and corporate governance and probity, including codes of conduct, pecuniary interests, privacy and access to information.

As one would expect from a former in-house local government lawyer, Sue is highly experienced in advising Councils in relation to all aspects of the Local Government Act 1993, with particular expertise in relation to community and operational land issues, rating and finance issues, local approvals, functions of Council, meeting procedures and delegation. She has also advised council’s on councillor and staff issues and liability in relation to various matters including sea level rises and flooding.

For a decade, I have been justifiably proud of the unique skillset and practice experience that LTL’s senior team – Megan, Stuart and myself – have been able to bring to bear in assisting our clients with their legal issues. I have also been proud of the level of service we have been able to provide and the consistent quality of those services. With the addition of Carlo and Sue to our senior team and with the talent of our more junior lawyers, I am confident that I will be able to continue to be proud for years to come.

On behalf of everyone at LTL, I warmly welcome Sue to the team.  Like all of our lawyers, Sue will be available to work for all of our clients, and I look forward to introducing her to you and your organisations over the coming months.

In the meantime, Sue can be contacted directly on (T) 02 8235 9702 or (E) sue.puckeridge@lindsaytaylorlawyers.com.au .
